Important Information About Contributions
Campaign contributions may only be made by individuals who are residents of British Columbia and who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents. Organizations cannot contribute to a local election campaign.
For 2026, an individual may contribute up to $1,429.70 to a local election candidate or elector organization per campaign. Contributions must come from the contributor’s own money and cannot be reimbursed by another person.
Campaign contributions are not eligible for a tax receipt. Contributions of $100 or more are publicly reported by Elections BC with the contributor’s name and contribution amount.
